On Second Life "Banks"

Linden Labs announced yesterday to ban all "Banks" in second life that have not a real world license.
They argue they had to do this, because these banks occassionally run away with their "customers" money... But hey, that is what a fraud is about! You can send your money to this guy in Nigeria, try your luck in a quick game on the street, or open an sl banking account ...

Panic hits the grid, "Banks" runs out of cash, ATM stops working...
The "Word Stock Exchange" gives out an audio message, that all this financial stuff is just kind of role play...

So take it like this, some people like to play the con artist, other the clueless victim it's all up to you how you create your second existence.

Exploring the mainland, Day 1

Tonight I'm starting exploring Second Life systematically. So first thing I need is a map of SL... Fortunatly provides NCI one at their InfoHub. Of course SL has one, too, ut I wanted to know the names of the mainland continents.

I decided to start with the unnamed continent, feeling pitty for it not being named yet. ( The younger Corsica continent has a name!).

The southern tip of this continent is formed by 10 sims, consisting partly of large water areas.

In the very south are Pounce, Furball and northeast of it, Rathais. These water sims are owned by Govenor Linden and has only Pounce has one little patch of dry land. They are neither build nor script.

Scratchy contains nicely build residentials by Beck-Nemeth Estates.

Yeeowler contains a nice beach resort, according to the description builded and owned by a cooperation named Serenade.

In the same sim we find a goth beach resort. If you ever want to hand around in black on a graveyard and sit on your towel on a sunny beach, this might be the place for you;)
But as the rest of the sims, it was completly empty at the time of my visit...
